Feature Exploration
I started my journey on Peacock in London and working through some potential future features to help excite clients and create potential scope post MVP.
This ran alongside the start of the project to show NBCUniversal what their new streaming service could do to set themselves apart from competition such as; Netflix and Amazon Prime.
Designing Collaboratively
One of the most interesting parts of the project was working on a large scale and designing collaboratively with the team in Figma. Depending on the feature we were designing the teams shifted around dependent on the skillsets needed, working with UI, UX and motion designers within Figma to wireframe, design, present and handoff to developers.
In the example to the right, this slice was set up to present to the wider team & clients, they were then used as storyboards for motion designers to illustrate the journeys for dev to build in the user testing environment.
User Flows
Sometimes depending on the feature and needs from Technology we would be required to create User Flows, I created many flows through-out the year and helped create templates to be used by the wider team for upcoming features.
User flows would usually shown for TV as that was the primary device used for presentations but depending on the feature I would create device specific flows or cross device if needed.
Design QA for User Testing and Build reviews
On Peacock we regularly were preparing for User Testing rounds or near the launch date spending hours making sure that the build was at its best.
I would look at builds across multiple devices and work closely with Product Owners and Developers to adjust, critique or create assets for them to get the best result for each situation.
Working With Developers
Through-out the project we would regularly present to the tech team and on some dev heavy tasks we would work closer with the external tech teams.
One of these tasks were updating screens based on the introduction of iOS size classes, I would work with a point of contact within the tech team and understand the needs of their team to then research size classes then work with our design team to educate them on iOS size classes and then create the necessary screens for this new feature.
