Roli Noise App

Designing an app experience to support existing hardware.

A project with product company Roli who specialise in music equipment to prepare for a November release in Apple stores in London and San Francisco.

Sketching and wireframes

After auditing the existing designs, I started sketching and wireframing in Sketch some potential ideas for the Roli Noise iOS tablet app, these solutions were then presented back to the wider team and the Roli CEO.

Designing software hardware relations

With the nature of the project a main use is the relationship between the blocks and the application. One of my main tasks was to define the way these relationships worked.

Geurilla testing the build

Once the application was in build, we could start testing the relationships and making sure the hardware worked perfectly with the application, this was both from a user and a technical perspective.

Prototyping sharing functionality

Through-out the project we worked certain functionality up into prototypes, this allowed us to visualise and demonstrate how it could work. One journey we visualised was how users would share their tracks between the app and Noisefm.
